
Willa passed away, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.
She was born May 8, 1945 in Jackson, the daughter of Boyd and Mary (Delmater) Slack. For many years Willa owned and operated a daycare for many friends and family. In her free time she enjoyed oil painting, fishing, camping and hunting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Willa was a member of the Otsego Church of God and currently attended North Avenue Church of God in Battle Creek. On February 8, 1963 at the Otsego Church of God she married James Dendel who survives.
Also surviving are her children, James Jr. (Kelley) Dendel, Eric (Doreen) Dendel, Tori (Jeff) Eckman and Tamara Bryant; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott; grandson, Alex; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Friends may visit with Willa’s family from 6-8PM, Monday, November 20, 2023 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, and starting at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Otsego Church of God until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Jeff Eckman officiating.
Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.
Contributions in memory of Willa may be made to North Avenue Church of God.
