Wayne passed away, Friday, September 15, 2023 at Metro Health in Grand Rapids.
He was born January 2, 1961, in Allegan, the son of Wilber and Nancy (Auckerman) Long. For many years Wayne worked at Tru Heat in Allegan. In his free time he enjoyed a cold beer, fishing, hunting for morel mushrooms, trips to the casino, going to the fair to watch the demolition derby, watching Days of Our Lives and hanging out with his brothers, Mike and Dan. On March 24, 1979 in Otsego he married Rochelle Blank who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Angela Long, Travis Long, Corey (Mandy) Long, Shayne Long and Lisa Long; grandchildren, Brandon, Taylor, Benjamin, Cody, Elliot, Kiano, Olivia, Amelia, Kensyn, Ashelyn, Britney, Kenlea, Kensley, Ryker, Paisley, Charles, Gavin, Kyra, Korryna and Lilly; great-grandson, Bryer; brother, Dan Long and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Nancy and Carl Merriam, siblings, Ruthann, Robert and Michael and by his nephew, Michael.
Friends may visit with Wayne’s family from 1-2 PM, Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego.
Burial will follow at 2:30 PM, at Hicks Cemetery in Watson Township.
