Wanda Horton (Fisher) Valler passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Stanford Lodge in Plainwell, with loving family at her side.
Wanda was born November 12, 1934 at William Crispe Hospital in Plainwell, daughter of Darl and Mable (Warren) Horton. She lived in the area all of her life, graduating from Otsego High School in 1953. For over 33 years, Wanda was an employee of Otsego Public Schools in various positions.
She was treasured and admired by OHS students and staff throughout the years. Wanda was the first female to receive recognition for her commitment to amateur athletic from the Wolverine Conference Board of Governors in August 1995, a distinction of which she was very proud.
During her senior years, Wanda truly enjoyed organizing and participating in bus trips with Pete and other senior citizens to experience social events around the area. In 1954, Wanda was joined in marriage with Russell Fisher and together they raised their family.
Wanda and Russ chose different paths and Wanda discovered the love she was intended to share in her golden years when she married Peter O. Valler Sr. in 1998. They had 22 years together before he passed away in 2020. Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family and they brought her so much joy.
Wanda is survived by children, Brad Fisher, Shawn (Ronald) Gleason; step-children, Terry Valler, Peter (Karla) Valler, Jr., and Andrew (Susan) Valler; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and other beloved friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter O. Valler Sr.; sister, Toni Booth; daughter, Sandra Richards; step-daughter, Debra Mapes and step-grandson, Austin Valler.
