T. Michael Russell, known lovingly as Mike, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Hopkins. Born on January 9, 1963, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Paul and Naomi (Bailes) Russell.

Excelling in athletics during his high school years, Mike wrestled and played football. He proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army and was an active member in the Otsego VFW Post #3030 and the Allegan American Legion.

Following his military service, Mike began working as a truck driver before dedicating over two decades to serving as a Sheriff’s Deputy in Allegan County.

In 2014, Mike endured a severe motorcycle accident that brought significant medical challenges, which he faced with courage and resilience. Despite these difficulties, he maintained his love for life and the activities that brought him joy, including camping, horseback riding, working on race cars, and most importantly, spending quality time with his friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Boylan, whom he married on June 8, 2019. Mike also leaves behind his children: David (Carol) Barber, Kayla Simpson, Lindsey (Timothy Jr.) Beebe, and Tristan Russell; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. 

Burial of ashes will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery, and a celebration of Mike's life will take place at At the Master's Feet Discipleship Ministry at a later time.
