Sheryl Willis

Sheryl passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at Vibrant Life Senior Living in Kalamazoo. 

She was born April 14, 1960, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Dean and Mary Ellen (Blanchard) Himmelein. Sheryl graduated from Plainwell High School and attended school in New York studying photography, which was her life’s passion. Sheryl always had a camera in hand and was constantly taking pictures. She won many ribbons for her photos at the county fair. 

Sheryl worked for the City of Otsego, City of Kalamazoo and as an administrative assistant for multiple area businesses. In her free time Sheryl enjoyed making marbles and jewelry with her mother, playing cards and was interested in astrology. She was a woman of strong faith and loved God. 

Surviving are her brother, Bill (Gretchen) Himmelein, many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Birdie. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Rick. 

According to her wishes cremation has taken place. 

A memorial celebration will be held at a later time.
