Ruth E. Patrick

Ruth passed away peacefully Saturday, February 14, 2026, at her home in Plainwell, surrounded by her family. 

She was born August 15, 1934, in Plymouth, Ohio, the daughter of George and Polkie (Howard) Risner. As a young woman she worked as a seamstress at Kessler and then for several years at Parker Hannifin until her retirement. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing euchre and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended God’s will Gospel Center in Otsego. On August 9, 1952, she married Menifee Patrick Jr. who passed away in 1983. 

Surviving are her children, Jeff Patrick of Plainwell and Kathy (Ricky) Elkins of Otsego; grandchildren, Donald (PJ) Elkins, Gary (Elizabeth) Patrick, Joshua (Candice) Patrick, Rebecca Elkins and Sierra (Chris) Colwell; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Robert, Christian, Jordyn, Zara, JJ, Jerrica and Rowan; siblings, Larry Risner and Josephine Bailey along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Emma Risner; son Gary Patrick and siblings, Bertha, Clayton, Elmer, Dave, Ray, Ollie, Frank, Barbara, Dora Lee, Richard and Theodore. 

Friends may visit with Ruth’s family from 4-7 PM, Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Orangeville Pentecostal Church, and again from 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 17, 2026, until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 P.M., with Pastor Mike Risner, Richard Sheldon and Jim Elkins officiating.

 Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Orangeville.

Ruth’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Wings of Hope Hospice, especially the nurses for their outstanding care of Ruth and the comfort they provided in her final days.
