Ronald A. Miller was born on December 15, 1938, in Columbus, Wisconsin, to Walter and Erna (Poetter) Miller. He peacefully passed away on August 19, 2025, at the Life Care Center in Plainwell. After graduating from Columbus High School in 1957, he pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin, where he graduated in 1968. He furthered his academic accomplishments by earning a master’s degree in business and finance from Western Michigan University in 1993.
A proud veteran, Ron served his country as a Corporal E-4 in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1962, during the Vietnam War. His service also took him to California and the Philippines, where he demonstrated courage and dedication.
In 1968, Ron moved to Alexandria, Virginia, where he began a career as assistant editor working for the National Future Farmers of America Magazine and served as editor for the Johnson Hill Press Newsletter in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. From 1977 until 1991, he worked for the Upjohn Company. Following his time there, Ron transitioned into teaching Business Information Systems and Computer Science at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Davenport University until his retirement in 2014. Even after retiring, he continued to work at the Jeep Chrysler Dealership until 2025.
Outside of his professional life, Ron pursued various interests that brought him joy. He was an avid camper, enjoyed singing, gardening, riding his John Deere tractor, traveling and visiting with his neighbors. The family exhibited and won many prizes for gardening and photography at the Allegan County Fair for many years. Ron was a man of strong faith and was a dedicated member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he served as treasurer and taught Sunday School.
On June 4, 1966, in Horicon, Wisconsin, he married Ellen Masske and together shared 59 wonderful years.
Surviving are his loving wife; daughters, Rebecca (Thomas) Repp and Gwendolyn (Darren) Miller-Reierson; step-grandson, Dylan Reierson and siblings, Gerald Miller, Sharon Huggins, Sandy Ellingson, Mark Miller and Sheila Brassington along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth Miller.
Friends may visit with Ron’s family starting at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church in Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Nathaniel Timmermann officiating.
Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon, Wisconsin, overlooking the Maaske Family Farm.
