Roger passed away peacefully at his home in Otsego on August 27, 2025. Born on July 20, 1942, in Otsego, he was the beloved son of John and Addie (Parsons) Mason.
Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart medal. After his service, he returned to his hometown where he embarked on a successful career as a Tool & Die Maker.
A devoted member of the Otsego VFW and the Otsego Elks Lodge, Roger enjoyed engaging with his fellow veterans and community members. He was an avid outdoorsman, finding great joy in hunting, fishing, gardening and canning, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and spend quality time with friends and family.
He is survived by his beloved brothers, Ken (Sherry) Mason and Bob (Debbie) Mason, as well as his brother-in-law, Harold Tackett, special nieces who cared for him, Laurie (Jeff) and Allison (Ray) along with 1 nephew and 7 additional nieces.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Catherine Rop and Sandra Tackett; brother-in-law, Don Rop and nephew, Jonathon Mason.
A private family graveside service will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery.
