Robert “Steve” Fergusson

Steve passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.

He was born August 24, 1948 in Plainwell the son of Robert and Mary Ellen (Sornbury) Fergusson. Steve was an Otsego High School graduate and proudly served his country in the US Navy. A lifelong resident of the area, he had worked at the Big Wheel and Auto Zone for many years.

Steve was a member of the Kalamazoo Kennel Club and had been a dog trainer, handler and show judge. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, traveling around the U.P., reading and watching old western movies. He married Linda Sue Smith who survives.

Also surviving are his children, Jennifer (Chad) Starbuck-VanVoorst of Martin, Dennis (Jessica) Starbuck of Breedsville and Allison (Jay) Starbuck of Martin; 9 grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Logan, Dominic, Steven, J.J., Natalie, Dayton and Skyler; his mother, Mary Ellen Woodstock; siblings, Laura (Kevin) Riddell and Mike Fergusson and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and by his sister, Karen.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at a later time.

Memorial donations in memory of Steve may be left to his family to help with final expenses. Messages of condolence may be posted at
