Robert F. LeDuc

Robert F. LeDuc passed away on December 25, 2025, at Beacon Hospital in Kalamazoo. 

He was born on July 1, 1941, the son of Louis and Antoinette (Mogielski) LeDuc in Chicago, Illinois, where he spent his younger years and later built a successful career as a welder in commercial construction until his retirement in 1994.

Bob had many interests throughout his life. He enjoyed coaching softball when his children were young and was a skilled woodworker. He liked gardening and found joy and adventure as part of a hot air balloon crew, contributing his skills to many flights.

Bob’s true passion was his family. He cherished the moments spent with his wife, Catherine Biesterfeld, whom he married on November 17, 1962, in Elmwood Park. Together, they raised a family that was the cornerstone of his life. Bob is survived by his children: Bob (Kattie) LeDuc of Illinois, Sheryn LeDuc of Plainwell, Julie Harlan of Portage, and Karyn LeDuc of Plainwell; his grandchildren, Zoe, Max (Cristina), Autumn (Steve), Madaline, Mackenzie, and Malena and great-grandson, Nathan

In addition to his devoted family, he is remembered by his brother-in-law, Russell, and sister-in-law, Jayne, along with their families.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later time.
