Richard L. Rasmussen

Richard Rasmussen (Dick), a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp., passed away, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at his home in Otsego, MI, surrounded by his family. The son of Ross and Margery (McNair) Rasmussen. He was born March 14, 1945, in Omaha, Nebraska and grew up in Allegan, Michigan. 

Dick graduated from Allegan High School. He worked as a Millwright for Rockwell International and Steelcase, displaying his ability to assemble and set up most any machine and maintain equipment. 

At the age of 20, Dick enlisted into the Marines, serving most of his time in the Vietnam War. He was an active member of the Otsego VFW Post 3030. He liked the camaraderie of the other members and friends he made there. He especially enjoyed working in the kitchen during the popular fish fry events. 

Dick is survived by his daughters, Kristy (Matt) Milbocker and Jill (Al) LeMaire. His four grandchildren, Tara LeMaire, Chase Milbocker, Cole Milbocker, and Freddie LeMaire. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Rasmussen. 

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. 

Burial of ashes will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 19, 2024, at Fort Custer National Cemetery, in Augusta. A time of fellowship will follow at VFW Post 3030 in Otsego.
