Dear family of Mr. Wood. As a child we were always to call people Mr. and Mrs. So that is how I remember him. Many nice times shared with Mr. n Mrs. Wood, growing up with the girls. Especially Leslie. I always enjoyed their input with our Sunday school class as well as their beautiful voices in our COG choir! I will treasure a beautiful wooden bowl he made of my walnut tree a few years back. Hugs and prayers for the family. Hold on to the sweet memories!

Leslie, Kandie, and Holly, your dad was a very special person in the life of my family and though we haven’t seen him much in the past few years, I will always remember all the good times we had. Especially the Sunday dinners after church, where he showed Clint & Jen how to blow the paper off the straw at someone. I’m sure it made their father cringe, but that was Dick. Your mom and dad were always there for us even after I moved to Battle Creek. You have my deepest sympathy and I will be praying for you and your families. Love, Sue

We have so very many special memories of Dick..I personally remember Dick riding his bike from the farm house he was raised in way out in the country..to our house on East Franklin Street … just to see his girl friend, my older sister Eleanor. Eleanor later became the wife of this hard working, dedicated man. Even as a kid, Dick had a sense of humor! On one of his bike trips to see Eleanor I remember him asking me “DID YOU EVER SEE A MATCH BURN TWICE?” Me being a little girl of maybe 10 years replied “NOOO”..”DO YOU WANT TO ” Dick said..”YA”. I said with great enthusiasm!! Then Dick began to show me..OUCH!! HE LAUGHED, I CRIED AND HE APOLOGIZED TO ME. It did in fact burn twice.!

As adults Kerry and I have had many wonderful times with Eleanor and Dick, playing cards, sharing meals, blending our families with fun times. Taking trips together..just wonderful memories we made together..Those times are treasured.

Our prayers go out for Donna and our precious nieces and their families. This is a difficult time, but knowing you can see him again is a special comfort that Father God will give all who believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again so their sins could be forgiven and they too can have an ETERNITY in HIS presence… God bless you all and our prayers continue for you to be comforted IN HIM.

I am so sorry to hear about Dick’s passing-When my father passed away we got a beautiful card from them

Your mom & my mom have the same name so I knew I better remember your mom.

My dad used to stop by the insurance office and picked up an ad for the Shopper’s Guide.

Your dad will never be forgotten by all those that knew him and his family.

Gentle hugs to all of you.
