Regina A. Burroughs

Allegan

Regina A. Burroughs passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at Beacon Health in Kalamazoo. She was born on August 6, 1955, in Allegan, the daughter of William and Jacqueline (Holland) Waterman.

Raised in Merson, Regina attended the Merson School, where her early involvement in 4-H earned her several blue ribbons, highlighting her commitment and talents from a young age. She was known for her love of gardening and the simple pleasure she found in watching soap operas. Her fondness for turtles symbolized a deep connection to the idea of home—wherever they go they are always home, a sentiment that resonated profoundly with Regina's spirit.

Throughout her career, Regina worked at several area nursing homes and for Wings of Hope Hospice. She was privileged to provide compassionate care for many, including her beloved Aunt Sally. Instrumental in nurturing those around her, Regina devoted considerable time and love to raising her grandchildren, demonstrating her devotion to family.

She is survived by her son, Trevor Burroughs, and his wife, Jade of Allegan; her grandchildren, William, Jacqueline, Jeremiah, Oakley Burroughs, and Kennedy Rewa; as well as her sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her family and friends will forever remember her warmth, kindness, and the gentle strength she brought to their lives.

According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later time.

Regina A. Burroughs will be forever loved and greatly missed by those fortunate enough to have known her. Fly high, butterfly.
