Phillip E. Head

Phillip passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 in Kalamazoo.

He was born November 4, 1943 in Battle Creek, the son of Thomas and Daisy (Miller) Head. For 53 years Phil worked as a die setter at Checker Motors until his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed collecting things, camping at the Moose Lodge and going to garage sales. Phil was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Phil was a longtime member of the Otsego Moose Lodge #345. In 1964 in Kalamazoo he married Linda Quackenbush who preceded in July.

Surviving are his children, Michelle (Henry) Zuydwegt of Florida, Cindy (Michael) King of Three Rivers, Patricia Van Bruggen of Otsego, Michael Head of Otsego, Christopher (Tiffanie) Head of Parchment and Cheryl Head of Plainwell; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; his half-brother, Jimmy; brother-in-law, Robert (Charlene) Quackenbush and Beth Klinger who was like a daughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; children, Dan and April; granddaughter, Jordan and sisters, Shirley and Penny.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.

Contributions in memory of Phil may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice.

He was a great friend to me. So sad to see him go. When you would have a tough day, he would be a lift up your spirits friend. Always looked forward to seeing them. They are nice people. ❤
