Paula K. Sunnerville, passed away surrounded by friends and family, on May 6, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on June 15, 1967, in Cadillac, Paula was the daughter of Donald and Janice (Meekhof) Brunink. 

Paula devoted her career to helping others, flourishing in her roles at Wedgewood, St. Margaret Catholic Church, and Home Helpers. Her compassion and dedication touched countless lives, particularly those in need. She drew immense fulfillment from her work and was known for her warmth and unwavering commitment to fostering a sense of hope and support. 

An active member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Otsego, Paula participated enthusiastically in various community activities, including school events and the beloved Halloween Carnival. Her love for community extended beyond her professional endeavors, and she found joy in connecting with friends and family. 

In her personal life, Paula had a variety of interests that brought her relaxation and happiness. She enjoyed unwinding by watching Detroit Tigers or Lions games and indulging in her favorite television shows. Paula was also a devoted animal lover, sharing her home over the years with many cats, dogs, and a giant goldfish, each of whom was a testament to her nurturing spirit. 

Paula is survived by her three beloved children: Jack, currently stationed with the U.S. Navy in Washington; Sam, serving with the U.S. Army in Washington; and Chloe, attending college at Calvin University. She is also survived by her father, Donald of Ludington; her mother, Janice of Grand Rapids; her sister, Suzy (Jeanne) Brunink-Dunn of Massachusetts; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will fondly remember her caring heart and vibrant spirit. 

Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Bret, who passed away in 2021. Paula's legacy of compassion, resilience, and love will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched. 

Friends may visit with Paula's family from 4-7 PM, Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Winkel Funeral Home in Otsego. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 10, 2025, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Otsego, with Rev. Fr. Robert Creagan officiating. 

Burial will follow at St. Margaret Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Paula may be directed to The Pink Fund
