Mary S. Miller passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at Beacon Health in Kalamazoo. Born on March 12, 1964, in Plainwell, Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Louis and Emily (Ballay) Kubin.
Mary graduated from Otsego High School in 1982. She embarked on her professional career at Alamo Nursing Home, demonstrating early on her commitment to serving others. Her career path took her to Parker Hannifin before she devoted over three decades to AT&T until her retirement. Mary also spent a brief period working at PNC Bank after retiring.
Outside of her professional achievements, Mary was deeply involved in her community. She always had a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and generously volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul food bank. Additionally, she found strength and comfort as a member of the breast cancer support group in Plainwell.
Mary had many interests that brought joy to her life. She was an avid crafter, particularly skilled in working with resin, and found pleasure in playing cards and dominoes. She also loved animals and traveling. On June 23, 1984, she married John Miller who survives.
Also surviving are her beloved sons, Josh Miller of Kalkaska and James Miller of Otsego; and her siblings, Patricia (Milt) Garber of Nevada, Sue (Bob) Knaus of Florida, and Emilia (Doug) Rex of Otsego. Mary was also a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews and is survived by her sister-in-law, Joleen (John) Miller.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sister-in-law, Debbie Miller and brother-in-law, Jerry Miller.
Friends may visit with Mary’s family from 5-7pm, Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Winkel Funeral Home in Otsego. Cremation will follow. A memorial Mass will be held at 11am Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Otsego, with Rev. Fr. Simon Manjooran officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at St. Margaret Cemetery.
