Martin S. Lovely

Martin S. Lovely passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at his home in Kalamazoo. Born on October 29, 1950, Martin was the son of Paul and Vera (Whitney) Lovely.

A lifelong resident of Kalamazoo, Martin graduated from Parchment High School in 1968 and continued his studies at Western Michigan University. For several years, he operated a produce market in Kalamazoo and along with his parents and brothers owned Lovely's Greenhouse until their retirement in 2020.

In July 1981, he married Denise Rogers, who passed away in 2000. In August 2009, he married Nadine Fitzgerald, who passed away in 2021. He was a proud member of the Freemasons and enjoyed golf, collecting stamps, hunting, and watching wildlife.

Martin is survived by his son, Adam Lovely; his stepmother, Vivian Lovely, who raised him as her own; his brothers William Lovely of Brazil and Tom (Carol) Lovely of Kalamazoo; as well as nephews Chris (Meghan) Lovely, Ryan Rogers, and Tyler Rogers. He also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his two wives.

Friends may visit with Martin’s family starting at 10:00A.M., Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Winkel Funeral Home, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Celebrant Nyla Merrill officiating. Burial will follow at Alamo Center Cemetery.
