Margery A. Wesler

Margery went home to be with her Lord and be reunited with her husband, Tag and daughter, Kay, on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Vicinia Gardens in Otsego.

She was born February 3, 1918 in Cheshire Township the daughter of Lyle and Ethel (Wilmot) Abbott. Margery had worked at Atlas Press Company in Kalamazoo for several years. She had also owned and operated Standard Oil in Otsego with her husband where she had been the bookkeeper for 30 years. In her spare time Margery enjoyed sewing and traveling.

On September 16, 1938 in Bangor she married Howard “Tag” Wesler who passed away in 2011. Together they loved dancing to big band music, entertaining in their home and wintering in Florida. Margery was a member of the First Congregational Church Ladies Guild.

Surviving are her son, Douglas (Cindy) Wesler of Otsego; 2 grandchildren, Dannielle Staeven and Marc (Amanda) Wesler both of Otsego; 3 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Bo and Emmalyn; 4 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-great-grandchildren and many close nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Kay Wesler.

Friends may visit with Margery’s family from 4-7 P.M., Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 12, 2019 with Pastor Jim Davis officiating.

Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.

Contributions in memory of Margery may be made to the

Van Andel Institute for Parkinson’s Research.
