Margaret B. Seedorff

Otsego

Margaret Belva Seedorff was born January 13,1938 to Frank Betzner and Belva Faye Cutcher in Otsego, Mi. Margaret was the first born and had one sister, Gladys, but sadly their mother passed away when Margaret & Gladys were very young. Frank later married Pauline Voight and had five more children.

Margaret graduated from Otsego High School in 1956. She married Lawrence Donald “Dutch” VerHage in 1958 in Kalamazoo at Twin Lakes Christian Reformed Church and they had one son, Timothy and a daughter, Shannon. Together they purchased and operated a dairy farm until Dutch passed away in 1982. Margaret worked at Bell Telephone as an operator and for over 20 years at Parker Hannifin until her retirement.

Margaret married Charlie Seedorff in 1984. After Charlie’s passing Margaret lived year around in Leesburg, Florida along with her very good friend, Buster Howell, and enjoyed traveling. Margaret enjoyed reading and she also loved angels, especially guardian angels whom you would see placed around her house or on a pendent on her shirt. She really loved taking visitors to Disney when they came to visit. One thing is for certain she was a natural green thumb and could make anything grow.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Belva Betzner, stepmother Pauline, sister, Gladys Laws and brother-in-law, Doc Laws, sister Ruth Ann Coon (Wayne), brothers in law, Isaac VerHage and James Watson (Yvonne).

Surviving is Margaret’s son Timothy VerHage (Sandy), daughter Shannon Guritz (Jon), five grandchildren, Julie VerHage-Greenberg (Jordan), Kristi VerHage-Miller (Derek), JD Guritz (Karleigh). Sara Guritz-Leverett (Ricky) and Susan Guritz- Hiestand (Matt) several great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. Siblings Ron & Don Betzner, Pat Grauman (Donny), Mike Betzner (Carla), and Marcia Mitzel (Jinks). In laws: Donald & Carol VerHage, Duane & Carolyn VerHage, Yvonne Watson and Arlene VerHage.

According to her wishes cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held at a later time. Details will be updated once confirmed.
