Lorrie L. Jamieson

Lorrie L. Jamieson, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 16, 2025, at Beacon Hospital in Kalamazoo. Born on November 27, 1971, in Kalamazoo, Lorrie was the beloved daughter of Henry Jr. and Betty (Jonas) Root.

Lorrie was a graduate of Allegan High School, class of 1989, and later attended Davenport University. She dedicated many years to her career, having worked for several companies including JBS, Premier Food Services at Hayworth, Enviro-Clean, and most recently, Safari Circuits.

Lorrie enjoyed a variety of hobbies that reflected her vibrant and adventurous spirit. She found joy in collecting rocks, coloring, being active outdoors, maintaining a beautiful lawn, camping, kayaking and enjoying campfires under the stars. Lorrie also cherished her time spent at Silver Lake and took great delight in making salads and fruit bowls for family events. Music was also a passion for her, and she loved listening to it at full volume, adding to the lively atmosphere wherever she was.

Most importantly, Lorrie cherished the time spent with her family. She was immensely proud of her children: Amanda (Jeremie Collins) Zeran of Allendale, Lance Zeran of Allegan, Garret (Aubrey) Zeran of Ubly, Adam Zeran of Allegan, and Aaron Jamieson of Allegan. Her grandchildren, Paul, Emma, Laura, and Kennedy, who brought her immeasurable joy; her fiancé, Buck Washtoak, of Allegan; her mother, Betty Root of Allegan; her father, Henry Jr. (Linda) Esman of Gobles; and her siblings, Lisa (Brian) Kempkers of Hamilton, Rebecca (Jason) Bohl of Otsego, Stephanie Esman of Kalamazoo, and Kristy MacDonald of Plainwell. Lorrie also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Lorrie was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ray Root; siblings, Steven and Codie Esman; and her niece, Raisa Bohl.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Friends may visit with Lorrie’s family starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Winkel Funeral Home, until the time of the memorial service at noon, with celebrant Nyla Merrill officiating.
