Lois J. Bush

Lois (Counterman) Bush age 87 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at home. 

She was born November 3, 1938, in Allegan. Lois was the beloved daughter of Leon and Ivy Counterman. She was the youngest of 7 children. She graduated from Allegan High School. She worked for the Ben Franklin store and Ace Hardware in Allegan. 

October 9, 1959, Lois married Leonaed Bush at her parents’ home. They were married for 62 years. During the summer months Lois and Leonard enjoyed traveling to Bluegrass Festivals in the area and surrounding states. At these festivals is where Lois learned to play the dulcimer. 

Lois also enjoyed doing crafts and feeding and watching the hummingbirds. During the winter months Lois enjoyed doing puzzles and watching the deer and other wildlife in the yard. 

Lois is survived by her loving children, Leonard Bush and Wendy Bush-Jackson; granddaughter, Christy Jackson; great-grandchildren, Jayce and Kyren; brother, Arthur Counterman along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard. 

According to her wishes cremation has taken place. 

A private graveside service will take place at Trowbridge Methodist Cemetery.
