Mrs Shook was our neighbor when we came to Plainwell in 1964. As a child I spent just as much time at the Shook house as my own home. She was like a second mom to me. Thankyou Linda for all the love you so freely gave! Blessings to all. May you be in the center of Gods hand at this time. Love you all..Mary

The world has lost a fine lady! She was the kindest, dearest soul on this earth. Her home was ALWAYS open for anyone and everyone, and she made sure she had food for all. Aunt Linda was the hostess of the mostess! Holiday dinners were 30 course meals! She made sure there were at LEAST 30 different dishes. We NEVER went away hungry and ALWAYS had plenty!

My thoughts and prayers are with the Shook family during this difficult time. May you all be blessed with the fond memories of a special lady! God has gained an angel. Rest in peace, Aunt Linda. You will be tremendously missed. XOXO

We are so very saddened with the loss of our very dear friend. Linda was truly a lady to admire, she was always so kind to everyone. Over the years we’ve had so many special times we shared and so enjoyed her wonderful dinners and amazing pies. We thought about her so much this last Christmas as it was one of her favorite holidays. She will be dearly missed.

We have lost such a kind and wonderful lady. She was always positive and had kind things to say about everyone and everything, Our family spent so much time at the Shook house, every weekend and every holiday growing up we were together. We were there for weeks at a time while they made sure we got to school and were fortunate enough to experience her wonderful cooking. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the Shook family, you have exemplified what love and devotion means, remember all of the great memories you experienced. She will be truly missed by all.

To Marv and Family. Please know that we are so very, very sorry for your loss of Linda. She was a great lady and will be missed by so many. We always enjoyed her so much at the coffee gatherings at Burger King. When she went into the Alamo Nursing Home, we would visit her each time we went there to visit Jerry’s brother, Jack. She was a sweet and loving lady and was so very, very lucky to have such a wonderful family and to have Marv for a husband. He was so very devoted to Linda and we all admired him for his love and caregiving he gave her. He was at the nursing home every afternoon and stayed with her for hours and had the evening meal with her each day. Linda will be missed by a whole lot of people. We hope that your special memories will help you through the coming days and months ahead. Please know that our thoughts and sympathy are with all of you. May you find peace and comfort in the coming days.

Marv and family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Linda is at peace whole again! .Mom and Linda would sit on the bench in the hallway @ Church and they would just look at each other and drink their coffee. Smile or laugh at each other. I always wondered what they were thinking. She will be missed. I will miss Marv @ Alamo, you helped us get to know Alamo.

Aunt Linda was a loving, caring person who took pride in taking care of her family and friends. She loved babies and each new baby in the family was an opportunity for Aunt Linda to ‘get their sugar’ which meant she would kiss their neck and they would squeal with laughter. I have fond memories of family holidays and Aunt Linda would make a point to make my dad’s favorite pie – coconut cream if I remember correctly – which would make him happy. And I remember Aunt Linda comforting my mom, her youngest sister, when my father passed. For all these reasons and many more, we were blessed to have her in our lives and she will be greatly missed.

Uncle Marv, Kim, Randy, Angie, and Jeff – I am sorry for the loss you endured, you are in my thoughts now and always.

Dear Marv and family,

Bruce and I were saddened to hear about Linda’s passing. She was such a beautiful woman inside and out. Linda always had a smile on her face and always said ” hello dear” when she greeted me! Linda adored her family and took great pride in taking care of all of you especially on Sundays when she cooked and made yummy pies! We will miss her in the days ahead, but memories from years gone by will always be in our heart and on our mind May the Lord bless and comfort all of you during this time of grief and sadness.
