Kyle S. Hegedus

Kyle was born on February 19, 1992, and became the ultimate millennial through his love for travel, music, and his knack for creating a spirit of community for those around him.

Despite facing many challenges with his health, Kyle’s interests were wide-ranging and driven by his curiosity, zest for life, and resilient soul. He loved music, especially 90’s grunge, and became an aficionado as evidenced by his voracious appetite for reading everything he could find about performers and their art, his music collections, and the many concerts he attended. His unbeatable knowledge of music trivia was never trivial to Kyle and his family.

He was also a dedicated bike-rider who explored each road and trail that caught his interest. He traveled to many different areas of the country with special attention paid to his favorite places in Michigan where he created treasured memories for himself and his family. Hard Rock Cafes were an essential stop on every trip.

Kyle was very proud to have worked at the Otsego Public Library for nearly ten years. He graduated from Otsego High School in 2010 and attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College where he earned an associate degree in communications in 2015.

Kyle passed away at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.  His parents, his sister, and close family and friends held him close, assuring him that he was and will always be well-loved. Kyle was a remarkable young man who carried a humble nature, polite demeanor, unwavering bravery in the face of many medical challenges, and the ability to bring joy to those around him.

Surviving are his parents Thomas (Theresa Blakely) Hegedus and Elizabeth Hegedus; sister Kathryn "Kate" Hegedus of Otsego; grandparents Steve and Sandy Hegedus of Grand Rapids and William and Shirley Skutt of Flint; aunts and uncles, Brenda Edlund, Mark (Chris) Hegedus, Vicki (Roger) Terry and Sally (Rother) Alda and cousins, Cameron, Zach, Sydney, Ryan, Emma and Elinor.

In honoring Kyle's life, please remember his resilience, kindness, and the love he shared with all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
