Kenneth A. Heikka

Kenneth passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 in Kalamazoo. Kenneth was born April 4, 1945 in Hancock, MI the son of Peter and Allie (Anderson) Heikka. Ken was a proud graduate of Dollar Bay High School in the Upper Peninsula. 

He honorably served his country in the US Army. Kenneth worked for Hastings Mfg. for over 30 years and most recently was supervisor of maintenance at Baraga Manor. Ken loved to work and was a skilled handyman who could build or fix anything. He remodeled their home in Hastings before moving to Otsego 10 years ago. Ken became a born-again Christian in 1972 and grew to love the Lord. More recently he was member of the Otsego Baptist Church. 

On June 21, 1969, in Hastings, he married MaryLou McPherson who survives. Also surviving are his son, John (Sharon) Heikka of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren JJ and Clara, siblings Karen (Paul) Hendon of WI, Ralph (Ivy) Heikka of WI, Pete (Betty) Heikka of Houghton, sister-in-law, Pat of AZ, and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Robert and Wally. 

Cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5-7PM, Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego. At 6pm there will be a formal time to share words of remembrance. 

Burial of ashes will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later time.

 Contributions in memory of Kenneth may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Otsego.
