Kay D. Trumbla

Kay passed away on October 23, 2025, at Hanson Hospice in Stevensville. Born on October 11, 1938, in Coldwater, she was the daughter of Fay and Ellen (Himes) Somerlott.

Kay dedicated a significant portion of her life to her career, having worked for Dr. Henelt in Hillsdale for many years before transitioning to Perrigo until her retirement.

In her spare time Kay found joy in traveling and enjoyed trips to the casino. On August 3, 1991, at their home in Plainwell she married Jack Trumbla who passed away in 2024.

Kay is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Scott) Musial of Lakeside and Lori (Bruce) Johnson of Spring Lake; stepchildren, Ron (Joann) Trumbla and Carl (Vicki) Trumbla; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Rod (Carla) Somerlott of South Haven; sister-in-law, Beth Somerlott, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Tim Nowak and brother, Charles “Chuck” Somerlott.

Friends may visit with Kay’s family from 6-8 PM, Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Winkel Funeral Home, where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 28, 2025, with celebrant, Nyla Merrill officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.
