Justin B. Edgington

Justin Brian Edgington was born on February 3, 2002, in Kalamazoo, the cherished son of Brian and Rebecca (Chlebana) Edgington. He passed away suddenly on November 5, 2025, in Kalamazoo.

Justin was a 2020 graduate of Plainwell High School, where he was an all-state swimmer, ran cross country and track. Justin furthered his education by attending Michigan State University, Western Michigan University, and Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

Justin's journey through life was marked by a deep passion for welding, which he pursued with enthusiasm. He began working with his father at Depatie Fluid Power and then at Scott Maker Fabrication where he was taught and mentored by Scott Maker who encouraged Justin’s love for welding and working with metal. Most recently, he was employed at Precision Metals Plus in Comstock, where his skills and dedication shone through in every project he undertook.

Beyond his professional life, Justin was a member of the Sault Ste Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. He had a great love for nature and enjoyed fishing, seeing it as a time for relaxation and connection with the outdoors. He cherished every moment spent with family and friends, always valuing their company and the laughter they shared. Justin’s goal in life was to scare his mother, a mission that filled their house with laughter, shrieks and endless surprises.

Surviving are his parents, Brian and Rebecca Edgington; his brother, Brendan (Brooke Edington) Edgington; his grandparents, Carol Edgington and Terry Chlebana; his grandma the great, Agnes Chlebana; as well as aunts and uncles, Chris Edgington, Terry Jr. (Cathy) Chlebana, and Kathie Chlebana, along with many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, M. Blaine Edgington and Lucille Chlebana.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.

Friends may visit with Justin’s family from 5-7 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Winkel Funeral Home in Otsego.

In Lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Justin may be directed to Gryphon Place in Kalamazoo.
