Judith Holmes

Judy passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025 in Kalamazoo. Judy was born April 24, 1948 in Traverse City the daughter of John and Eva (Doneth) Romsek. 

Judy was a graduate of Benzie Central High School class of 1966 where she was a cheerleader. She worked as a legal assistant for various law firms in the Kalamazoo area retiring in 2010. When her husband Ron was deployed to the Middle East she served as the President of the Michigan National Guard Family Support Group. Judy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; baking cookies and was especially known for her pies and her great sense of humor. She never missed a sporting event for her children and grandchildren and went all out for the holidays. 

On July 5, 1968 in Copemish, Michigan she married Ronald Holmes who survives. Also surviving are their children, John Holmes of Otsego, Michael (Michelle) Holmes of Otsego; 4 grandchildren, Taylor, Jack, Malia and Alissa; a sister Terri Matousek and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Julie TerMeer (Holmes) and a sister Nancy McCarthy.

Friends may meet with Judy’s family on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 6-8PM at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego where a Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 11 AM with Pastor Todd Meert officiating. 

Burial of ashes will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later time.
