James A. Henry

Jimmy was born in Allegan, Michigan in 1960 with a sweet tooth and a love for the outdoors in his heart. He grew up spending as much time in the woods as he could. He loved hunting and fishing, gathering many buck mounts, a boar’s head mount and a largemouth bass mount.

Many summers were spent bailing hay on the family farm with cousins, aunts and uncles. He finished high school and became a journeymen pipefitter working for Local Union 357. 

Jim is survived by his daughters, Brandy Gildea and Ashley Slemp; grandsons, Dakota, Dillon, Dawson and Deklan Slemp; sisters, Debra (Lewis) Cook, Barbara Clark, Nancy Gettys and Laura (Dave) Hoffman along with many nieces and nephews. 

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Jim Henry and Ginger and Bert VanDeLaare; son-in-law, Jeremy Slemp and brother-in-law, Joe Gettys.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. 

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
