Glenda F. Staley

Glenda passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Butterfly Oasis in Kalamazoo.

She was born May 10, 1919 in Otsego the daughter of Walter and Florence (Julien) Reed. Glenda was a 1937 Otsego High School graduate and a lifelong resident of the area. In her spare time she enjoyed working in her flower gardens, sewing, cooking, reading, dancing and playing cards. Glenda loved spending time with her family, especially gathering for Sunday potlucks.

On August 31, 1940 in Hillsdale she married Dale Staley who passed away in 2007.

Surviving are her children, Roger (Becky) Staley of Scottville and Janice Newton of Kalamazoo; 5 granddaughters, Jane, Chris, Connie, Patty and Caroline; 9 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Walter Reed, Wilma Cushman, Donna Westfield, Peggy Rex and Linda Clock and son-in-law, Richard Newton.

Friends may visit with Glenda’s family starting at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., at the Otsego United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Shaler officiating.

Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego.

Contributions in memory of Glenda may be made to the Otsego United Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice.

Sorry to hear of Glenda passing. She was such a nice lady. My Mon Elaine Garlock had great memories with her cousins in Otsego and one of them was Glenda.

Janice I am so sorry for you and your family’s loss of your mom. She was such a beautiful person. I had great joy in being part of her life. She always made me laugh and smile. Loved playing cards with her the days when I worked. Glenda will be truly missed . Hugs and lots of Love to you and your family !!!

Very sorry to hear about Glenda’s passing she was so kind to my children, Kerri, Cassi, Drew and Tammi Clock and myself. Dale and Glenda were tickled when Cassi was born on Glenda’s Birthday and I shared Dales Birthday. I have many fond memories of them. Love to you all .
