Franklin Fay Brewster passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Beacon Health in Kalamazoo. 

He was born October 2, 1955, in Plainwell, the son of Fay and Barbara (Canfield) Brewster. Fay attended Martin Schools and began working at Kal-Equip then Parker Hannifin for 42 years until his retirement. Fay was known for his laid-back demeanor and quick wit. He enjoyed making others laugh and always had a joke to share. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and liked selling bait and fishing rods he made by hand. 

Fay was a member of the Otsego VFW Dad’s Post and the Otsego Moose Lodge. He was a skilled pool player and played in leagues at the Otsego VFW Post and with his friends. 

Surviving are his wife, Terri (Spitzner) Brewster; children, Jeff Brewster of Detroit and Jackie Brewster of Allegan; granddaughter, Julia; mother, Barb; sisters, Darcy and Lisa along with several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father. 

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. 

A celebration of Fay’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Otsego VFW Post #3030.
