Sally passed away, Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Kalamazoo. 

She was born August 10, 1942, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Andrew and Winnifred (Mentor) Truax. Over the years Sally worked at many different jobs, including, teacher at Temple Baptist School in Kalamazoo, nurse at the Plasma Center in Kalamazoo and was a nanny for several area families. Sally touched the lives and was loved by many children. Sally’s favorite job was taking care of her home and raising her family. She was a member of the Friendship Wesleyan Church in Plainwell. In 1961, in Kalamazoo, she married David Wolthuis who passed away in 1994. 

Surviving are her children, Phil (Kathy) Wolthuis of Kalamazoo, Mike (Jill) Wolthuis of Martin, Felicia (David) Rawls of Florida, David Wolthuis of Kalamazoo and Krystina Wolthuis of Parchment; daughter-in-law, Sue Wolthuis of Wayland; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Andrea Heighton and Andrew Truax along with many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Timothy and Kenneth and siblings, Larry Truax and Cynthia Peacock. 

According to her wishes cremation has taken place. 

Friends may visit with Sally’s family starting at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Friendship Wesleyan Church in Plainwell until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Jason Smith officiating. 

Private burial of ashes will take place at Cooper Cemetery at a later time.

Contributions in memory of Sally may be made to the Shalom Woolery in Parchment.
