Erma J. Tice

Erma passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Vicinia Gardens in Otsego.

She was born October 16, 1929 in Bronson, Michigan, the daughter of James and Viola (Pierson) Snook. Erma graduated from Sturgis High School in 1947. She had worked at Harding’s Market until her retirement in 1993 and owned and operated an income tax prep service from her home for many years.

Erma enjoyed crocheting, sewing, doing crafts and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motorhome and was a member of the Good Sam’s Camping Club. She was an active member of the Kalamazoo Baptist Church, serving in many capacities.

On November 1, 1947 at her parents’ home in Sturgis she married William Tice who passed away in 2018.

Surviving are her children, David (Kathi) Tice of Allegan and Wendy (David) Conner of Plainwell; 4 grandchildren, Jeff (Ronda) Conner, Bethany Collings, Brian Tice and Amy (Doug) Brink; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Snook along with several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Leo Snook and sisters, Ilah Liggett and Helen Magnus.

Friends may visit with Erma’s family from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 7, 2019 with Pastor Greg Carlson officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell.

I got to know Edna many years ago when she worked At Town and Country with my Sister Sue.. She was such a Nice Person!! Always had A Smile!! Many years later I would Stop and buy a Couple Cantalope that her husband had grown! They were delicious!!Sometimes she would come out and Chat!! May God Ease The Broken Hearts of her Family and Friends!!Fly With The Angels Erma!!!!

Erma was a great friend and she treated people with respect she treated my wife kind even though she was blind she will be missed and thought of every day she is with her love of her life she is not in pain any more sending my prayers to the family

To the Rice family we we’re saddened to hear about the loss of your mother we always enjoyed seeing both of your parents when out and about and she always had a smile on her face with a friendly hello she also did our taxes for several years as well again sorry for your family loss
