Douglas E. Laidlaw

Douglas "Doug" Laidlaw passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, at Life Care Center of Plainwell. He was born May 15, 1951, in Oakland County, the son of Lloyd and Betty (Koop) Laidlaw.

Doug dedicated 43 years of his life to his career at Parker Hannifin, where he was recognized for his strong work ethic and outstanding contributions as an employee. His commitment to excellence earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike throughout his distinguished career.

Outside of work, Doug had love for fishing and playing cards. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Lions, passionately supporting his teams throughout every season. Doug held family gatherings in the highest regard, cherishing the time spent with his loved ones. On January 23, 1976, he married Mary Catherine Conway, who passed away in 2014.

Surviving are his children, Lisa (Jim) Trojanowski, Russell Laidlaw, and Mike Laidlaw, along with his grandchildren, Ryan (Misty), Justin (Jamila), Robbie, Kaitlyn (Jimmie), and Emily (Brett). He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren; sisters, Violet Collins and Bertha Stalter and many treasured nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Friends may visit with Douglas’ family from 2-5 PM, Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Winkel Funeral Home in Otsego. Private family burial will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery.
