Dianne K. Olney passed away, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 26, 1953, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Robert and Phyllis (Spencer) Hatten.
She graduated from Plainwell High School in 1971 and worked at many businesses including North American Aluminum and J.H. Printing, as well as house cleaning and babysitting. Her strong work ethic and dedication were reflected in everything she did.
Known for her bubbly personality and adventurous spirit, Dianne enjoyed spending time outdoors and was always up for a new adventure. She found joy in playing cards, horseback riding, time at Silver Lake and most notably, spending cherished moments with her grandchildren. Her adventurous nature led her to travel often, seeking new experiences and opportunities for fun.
Dianne’s commitment to her family was unwavering. She is survived by her husband, David Olney, whom she married in Kalamazoo in 1983. Dianne is also survived by her children: Melissa (Chris) Porterfield of Allegan, Jason (Elisha) Harrington of Plainwell, and Kimberly (Marc) McNett of Richland; her grandchildren, Skylar, Blade, Taylar, Cage, Alexa, Pipar, Gracee, Gunner, Kolton as well as her four great-grandchildren, Rosie, Violet, Oliver, Wesley, and another soon to arrive, Breslyn. She also leaves behind her mother, Phyllis Hatten; her brothers, Garry and Larry; brothers-in-law, Jim (Becky) Olney, Terry Olney and Roger Olney and her best friend, Terry Steinman.
Dianne was preceded in death by her father, Robert Hatten, grandchildren, Parkar Harrington and Easton Tucker and brother-in-law, Bruce Olney.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place.
The family would like to thank the staff at Borgess Hospital and Rose Arbor Hospice for the wonderful care given to Dianne the last several weeks.
