Deborah Goderre, affectionately known as Debbie and Martha, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, at her home in Allegan. She was born on June 6, 1955, in Three Rivers, the daughter of the late Wayne and Norma (Bailey) Patterson. Debbie graduated from Galesburg Augusta High School in 1973.

She devoted the last 32 years of her life to owning and operating Norma Jean's AFC Home in Watson Township, a testament to her dedication and commitment to care and community. Prior to this, she served as the driver of the special education Barry Eight bus for the Barry Intermediate School District, and earlier in her career, she also drove truck. Debbie married Gerald Goderre and spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 2000.

Throughout her life, Debbie found immense joy in spending treasured moments with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved taking many trips in her motor home, creating memories that will be deeply cherished by her family. Her warmth and loving spirit extended beyond her immediate family to her numerous nieces and nephews, for whom she was a beloved Auntie.

Surviving are her children: Amy Foreman, Gabriel Goderre, Donald (Heidi) Bailey, and Megan Goderre. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Josie, Jasmin, Kolin, Devon, Olivia, Lillia, Jaylynn, Trae and Ethan; five great-grandchildren, Aiden, Andi, Addison, Ella and Carter, with another great-grandchild expected soon and her siblings, Jerry, Wayne, Steve, and Mike.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother Duwayne, and her sister Kathleen. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Oakhill Cemetery in Orangeville Township. Following the service those that are unable to attend are encouraged to join the family for a time of fellowship and sharing memories at her home in Watson Township.
