David V. Peck

Otsego

David V. Peck passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at his home in Otsego. Born on January 17, 1942, in Bronson, Michigan, he was the son of the late Paul and Anna (Case) Peck.

A lifelong resident of Michigan, David graduated from Bronson High School in 1960. Shortly after graduating, he worked alongside his father in the family butcher shop before starting a career with General Motors, where he worked for over 35 years, retiring in 2000. Even in retirement, his work ethic remained strong as he continued working for Watts Construction.

David was a proud veteran, having honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Outside of his professional achievements, David found great pleasure in golfing and running, activities that kept him active and connected. He especially loved spending winters in Ft. Myers, Florida, where he basked in the warmth and sunshine that brought him comfort and happiness.

David shared over five decades of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary, whom he married on July 12, 1969, in Livonia. Together, they raised three children: Brian (Jessica) Peck of Portage, Eric (Ashley) Peck of Plainwell, and Kim (Joseph) McLaren of Otsego. Also surviving are his twelve grandchildren: Eddie Gorenz, Kaelyn Gorenz, Jaycie McLaren, Ashlynn McLaren, Brady McLaren, Kaj Peck, Ella Peck, Ava Peck, Ceasar Peck, Auri Peck, Mara Peck, and Mikey Peck; siblings Phil Peck of Kansas and Larry Peck of Florida along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ron and Phyllis.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.

Friends may visit with David’s family from 4-6 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Winkel Funeral Home in Otsego.

Burial of ashes will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later time.
