Dar passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Stanford Lodge in Plainwell.
He was born December 6, 1951, in Holland, the son of Willis and Hilda (Albers) Lampen. Dar proudly served his country in the Air National Guard. He began his career in the grocery business, was a truck driver delivering bread for Oven Fresh for 10 years then worked at Perrigo for 20 years. After retiring in 2020 he worked at Culver’s in Otsego.
Dar loved watching the Chicago Cubs and telling dad jokes. He liked listening to talk radio and watching court TV. Darwin was a man of faith and found comfort studying the Bible. On May 12, 1972, in Holland, he married Linda Jalving who survives.
Also surviving are his brother, Wayne (Jane) Lampen; brothers-in-law, Stuart (Joann) Jalving and Bob Jalving; sister-in-law, Audrey Jalving; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends Kevin Smith and Mike Cramer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Joshua and sisters, Joyce (Floyd) Boerman, Faith (Myron) Hoffman and Verna Mae (Ken) Berens.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
Friends may visit with Dar’s family starting at 1:00 P.M, Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Friendship Wesleyan Church in Plainwell, until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating.
Contributions in memory of Dar may be directed to Friendship Wesleyan Church or Centrica Care Navigators.
