Dale R. Reich

Dale went home to heaven on Thursday, December 31, 2020. He was blessed to begin 2021 with Jesus and the ability to walk and talk again.

Dale was born on January 25, 1939, to Albert & Marion (Miller) Reich in Kalamazoo.

Psalm 112 represents how Dale lived out his life in trusting and obeying the God he loved. He served in his church through the years on the trustee board and in many other areas and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He also supported many ministries and projects that benefited others.

Dale was blessed with God’s wisdom and delighted greatly in God’s word. His words and deeds demonstrated kindness, generosity, goodness and righteousness. His life of integrity blessed many.

Dale served as a State Farm agent and manager for over 40 years and enjoyed playing tennis, water skiing, snow skiing, swimming and traveling.

Dale is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughter, Robin (Rich) Bacon, son, Todd (Monica) Reich; grandchildren, Angela (Michael) Grimm and Tasha (Kegan) Centala; three great-grandchildren; sister, Sharlene Nishizawa and nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sherry Largent.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private celebration of life service will be held with immediate family.

Contributions in memory of Dale may be made to First Baptist Church of Otsego.

Bev, Todd, Robin and family: I have many happy memories from working with Dale for many years at State Farm. He was a good Christian man who walked the talk. His daily interactions with others exemplified his faith and generosity. Dale had high expectations of himself and others which resulted in successful relationships personally and in business. Dale will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.

You all are in my prayers for comfort in your time of loss.

I worked for Dale at his office in Jenison. Dale loved people and it showed. He listened and was eager to help how ever he could. He was proud of his farm, and spoke of it often and all of the projects that were waiting for his attention. We was the best manager that I have ever had. He was devoted to his family., and I am fortunate to have known him. (Even if it was for a short time). He taught me more about myself, and the importance of listening to what others were trying to say. We need more people like Dale in all of our lives. Bev, Todd & Robin , Dale was a great guy and I will think of him with fond memories. I am truly sorry for your loss…My sympathies are with all of you and your family during this difficult time.

My heart is heavy with sadness for all of Dale’s family. He has been on my mind lately and now I know why. You are in my thoughts and prayers. If I can help in any way please, call me. I received this message on a card when my mom passed. It has become a favorite of mine. ” A Life well-lived is a lasting inspiration. ” I can see that huge smile of his and hear his laugh. God blesses you with great memories.

Love,

Leslie

I am so very sorry to hear of Dales passing!! Dale (and Bev) were Neighbors, friends and “honorary grandparents” to our children during our time in Otsego! Dale was always ready with a smile, helping hand, rose advice, swim or chat!! Dale was such a big part of our family’s life for over 10 years and while we moved away from the neighborhood, Dale (and Bev)will ALWAYS have a very special place in our hearts! ❤️

*I know that Dale and Scott are “talking lawn care” and washing their cars side by side….with Tyler watching!!

Dale was truly one of God’s children. He was not just our State Farm Agent, he was a family friend. We always looked forward to his visits, especially on Christmas Eve when he would come no matter what the weather was to wish us a Merry Christmas & spend time just visiting with us. While my heart aches reading of his passing, my heart rejoices knowing he is now a member of the Holy Church Triumphant & sits at the right hand of God, our Father. My prayers go out to Beverly & his family & to everyone who knew & loved this wonderful man. When Dale was born, God looked at this beautiful creation & smiled. Well done, faithful servant, well done.

Bev, Todd, Robin and families,

My sincere condolences to you all. I have so many wonderful memories of Dale. We played early morning racquetball years ago. We also met many times over the years for lunch and shared prayer requests. He loved his wife and family. Dale always had a huge smile on his face and was a wonderful example to me of a genuine Christ follower who also loved his God and loved his neighbors. I think State Farm Insurance, the company Dale served for many years, may have been inspired to create their slogan, “Like a good neighbor…State Farm is there” based on Dale’s way of living his life. He was also a very generous man. I have special books he gifted to me and many beach towels and pot holders; the results of his generous nature. A paraphrase of Hebrews 11:39a best sums up his personal impact on me- “Dale earned his good reputation because of his faith…” He was a good friend and I will miss him.
