Clinton passed away, Friday, June 6, 2025, at Golden Orchards in Fennville.
He was born April 6, 1942, in Handshoe, Kentucky, the son of Mickle and Vina (Vanderpool) Coburn. Clinton was a Martin High School graduate and was a machinist for Rockwell International and later a truck driver for Crytal Flash until his retirement.
Clinton’s true passion was hunting, especially for turkey, squirrel, coyotes, deer and rabbit. He also enjoyed raising and training hunting dogs. He loved sharing his hunting knowledge with others, guiding people on hunts and teaching others about dog handling. On September 1, 1961, in Otsego, he married Judith Newton who passed away in 2015.
Surviving are his children, Julie Coburn and Troy Coburn both of Allegan; grandson, Justin (Crystal) Hall of Allegan; great-grandchildren, Alex (Haven) Larriuz, Makenzie (Tommy) Hatfield and Kane and Kynslee Hall; siblings, Larry Coburn of Martin, Gary (Sally) Coburn of Martin, Linda Ruhlig of Florida, Dorothy “Dot” Zugel of Allegan, Evelyn (Jim) May of Battle Creek and Garnett (Max) Lewis of Richland along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings, Jim, Carlos and Clyde Coburn, Carol Kohdl, Gwen Mueller and Charlotte Hoffman.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life potluck will be held from 1-3 PM, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Martin United Methodist Church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wings of Hope Hospice and Golden Orchards Assisted Living for their care and compassion.
