Cheryl A. DeHaan

Cheryl passed away, Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Bronson Commons in Mattawan. 

She was born April 3, 1956, in Muskegon, the daughter of Russell and Donna (Boes) Vanderwell. After moving to Kalamazoo, she attended and graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School in 1974. On November 7, 1975, she married Jack DeHaan. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2013.

From 2001-2020, she and her family owned and operated Jack T. DeHaan Heating and Cooling. Cheryl was a generous caretaker for her family. She also enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and spending time with the grandchildren. 

She is survived by her sons, Dan (Sara) DeHaan, Randall DeHaan and Josh (Ashley) DeHaan; grandchildren, Dylan (Haileigh), Kaitlin, Emma, Jackson and Brooks and great-granddaughter, Windy. Also surviving are her siblings Ruth (Larry) DeHaan, Charles (Susan) Vanderwell, Robert (Laura) Vanderwell, and many nieces and nephews.  

Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by both parents. 

Friends may visit with Cheryl’s family starting at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Immanuel Fellowship Church, until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor William Boekestein officiating. 

Burial will take place at 2:15 P.M., at West Cooper Cemetery in Cooper Township. 

Contributions in memory of Cheryl may be made to Centrica Care Navigators. Flowers may be delivered to the funeral home or to the church.
