Carole J. Prolo

Carole passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 in Kalamazoo.

She was born June 29, 1939 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Herman and Emily (Losey) VandenBosch. Carole enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and going to the casino. She loved cooking and never let anyone leave her house hungry. Carole worked at Cunningham Nursing Home and Bridgewood Manor, now Life Care Center of Plainwell for over 30 years. On September 23, 1955 she married Gaylon Prolo who passed away in 2012.

Surviving are her children, Kimberli (Andy) Rybicki of Plainwell, Shelly (John) Balentine of Alabama and Jon (Ruth) Prolo of Plainwell; grandchildren, Kyle, Jessica, Andrea, Nikki, Clayton, Casey, John, Abby, Libby and Alana; great-grandchildren, Lily, Elouise, Abbi, Blaine and Octavia; siblings, Roger (Linda) VandenBosch and Robert VandenBosch along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Gaylon Prolo Jr.

According to her wishes cremation has taken place.

Friends may visit with Carol’s family starting at 10 AM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 A.M., with celebrant Bill Rose officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell.

I Am so sorry to hear of Carols’s Passing. I bet Carole at Bingo at St. Margaret’s, She was a Very nice lady! I had just said a few days ago I wonder if she will come to Bingo now that it’s open again. Her and Pearl. Then I see this.
