Barbara J. Olds

Barb passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Holland Hospital. 

She was born November 20, 1948, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Jack and Elaine (Douglas) Olds. Barb was a 1967 Delton Kellogg High School graduate. She started her working career at Beverly Manor, Dy-dee Diaper Service and Alamo Nursing Home. She spent over 20 years working at McPherson Plastics and the Clark Gas Station in Allegan until her retirement. 

In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, raising chickens and goats, sewing, crocheting, taking road trips and spending time with her grandchildren. Barb was a wonderful baker and was known for her famous banana bread and pink Jello that she made for the holidays. 

Surviving are her daughter, Melissa Russell of Plainwell; grandchildren, Paisley and Gatlin both of Plainwell; special “adopted” grandson, Jake Sherwood; siblings, Deborah Dyer of Kalamazoo, Jack “Scott” (Joan) Olds and Randy Lee (Lana) Olds both of Buckley along with several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Charlee Rose. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Coleen Olds. 

According to her wishes cremation has taken place.

A celebration of Barb’s life will be announced shortly at at the Master’s Feet Discipleship Ministry with Pastor Ray Brown officiating.
