Barbara Burr
Barbara Burr of Plainwell, MI passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Wings Home in Allegan. She was born April 12, 1938 in Allegan the daughter of Albertus and Cecilia (Janke) Hellenthal. Barbara earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Michigan University. She had worked for Allegan Co. Mental Health and also worked at Pipp Hospital in the Accounting Dept. Barbara volunteered with CASA as a court appointed advocate for abused and neglected children and for Christian Neighbors. She enjoyed spending time with her family at her home and at the lake and she liked working in her flower garden. More than anything she loved spending time with her grandchildren. On July 2, 1960 she married the love of her life, William Burr who preceded her in death. Surviving are her children, Jeffery (Nancy) Burr of Otsego, Brian (Mary) Burr of Plainwell and Jennifer Burr of Plainwell; 4 grandchildren, David, Gregory, Mason and Lauren Burr; her sister Shirley (David) Reed and her Aunt Beverly Predum.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Otsego United Methodist Church at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Joe Shaler officiating.
Private family burial of ashes will take place at Mt. Home Cemetery at a later time.
Contributions in memory of Barbara may be made to the Wings Home.

I’m so sorry to hear of Barb’s passing. I enjoyed working with her at Pipp and learned a lot listening to her and Sally. They were a hoot together! Later years we met occasionally for dinner or a movie. She was a wonderful person who’ll be greatly missed. My prayers are with you all.

We lost an Angel on earth. Barbara was a witness to us all. Her kind, loving and caring spirit was a blessing to all and especially those of us on the mission team at church who were able to watch her in action. We all have missed her over the last several months but know she is now at peace and with Bill. May God give all of her family peace and joy in her wonderful memory. In Christ’s love, Lorna& Craig
