Thank you so much for the absolute honor of taking care of Barbara at the end of her life as one of her nurses. I knew her for only a short time and she left a mark on my heart. What a beautiful , precious soul. I am thinking of her family and friends. God bless you !

Dear Brian, Marc & families:

We are so saddened to hear of your mom/ grandmas passing. What an amazing woman she was. We’ve known her most of our lives. Both Craig and I had she and your dad as teachers. The BEST. So many fond memories over the years. She always looked beautiful and had such a lovely, kind smile. I loved seeing her out in her rose garden with her white shorts and her hair done perfectly. They both came to our granddaughters graduation party a few years ago even though they had to fight a horrible rain storm and mud. Entered as always with smiles and a happy presence. She was one of the very best teachers and always made you feel cared about in her presence. She and your dad are having a joyful reunion!!!!❤️. May your memories help to ease your loss and also knowing she was respected and loved by soo many. She will be sadly missed but we feel blessed by having known her.

Sooooo many sweet, funny memories living next door and then 2 doors down from the Fox’s for 50 years of my life! I could not have grown up with better neighbors! Mr. Fox riding his bike up to the front porch on his way to town “Well HELLOOOO neighbors”!! and Mrs. Fox bringing her famous pecan pie to us every Christmas morning to name just a few. Mind swirling. Love you “boys”! You are making them proud!

Dear family to Mrs.Fox

I knew mrs.fox by walking by her house and she was always so kind and had a smile to light a room, her yard was always perfect I would tell her, she would smile, she loved to stay active. After Hardings closed I didn’t get to see her much since I was usually walking there, but everytime I seen her out we would chat. What a sweet soul. I know her and bill are together again with our Lord . May the Lord comfort you at this time

Our sympathy Marc and Brian. Your parents were the absolute best!!

I started out as their students and ended up as a friend. Then was so honored to help them out when I worked at the library. I couldn’t wait to hear your Dad’s stories. I just loved them. How fortunate for you to call them Mom and Dad!!!!

Bill and Barb helped me a great deal when I went back to college to complete my degree.

Bill introduced me to a curriculum counselor. That was such a big help. Barb gave me books that she felt I would need. I said to her, “Barb, you’re giving me these books of yours, don’t you want them?’ She had the sweetest smile and said, “A book isn’t any good unless it’s being used.” I’ve always remembered that comment. I went on to complete my degree and had the privilege and pleasure of teaching with Barb, at Dix St. Elementary. She was an excellent teacher and an excellent role model.

My sincere sympathy to Marc and Brian and their families. I know you have good memories of your parents. They were such good people.

We have good memories of our neighbors from “way back when.” Barb always had a smile and kind words when we walked past their house. She was a lovely person and looked elegant even in her gardening clothes! Our prayers for Marc and Brian and their families as you mourn your loss and honor your Mom’s life.

Our condolences,

Barb was one fine teacher. I had the good fortune to be the principal in the middle school when Barb was teaching six grade students. I would have Barb critique my newsletter before it was sent to the parents. I would always now for sure that it was flawless. My deepest sympathies to Barb’s family.

Dear Fox family,

We are very sad to hear about Barbs passing. She was a genuine lady and a wonderful teacher! Her smile was contagious and she always asked and cared about your well being. I (John) taught with Barb for several years and she demonstrated such love for her students. She was a great co-worker and always so professional. We pray God’s presence upon you. May the special memories you mom make you smile and give you peace. With Live, John and Diane

Mrs. Fox (Barb) was my sixth grade English teacher. She was always fun and witty, and her classroom was warm, tidy and inviting! She always dressed as a professional when she taught in school. She set an example of how a teacher should walk, talk and teach! Many years later I worked at Toaz Pharmacy downtown and would have great conversations with her and Mr. Fox (Bill) when they stopped in. Bill was my college advisor in the History Department at Western Michigan University and helped me navigate my way through college. Both of them always had a smile on their face and were always willing to help everyone they came in contact with! They are forever in my memories, and I wanted you to know how much they made an impact on me! Sending you love!
