Astrid P. Carlson passed away on November 23, 2025, at the Hope Network AFC Home in Sparta. She was born on October 29, 1936, in Camden, New Jersey, the daughter of Ernest and Marie (Madsen) Carlson.
Astrid worked at Goodwill and the Hope Network, where she was known for her compassionate spirit and dedication to helping others.
Astrid had a vibrant personality and a wide array of interests that brought joy to those around her. She was a fan of Elvis Presley, finding great pleasure in watching Elvis movies and listening to his music. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, enjoyed knitting, cooking breakfast, doing crafts and playing card games. She was involved with the Special Olympics, where she participated in the softball throw and track and field events. Above all, she cherished the moments spent with her family.
Surviving are her sisters, Marjorie Gearhart, Jean Vliek, and Judith Burroughs along with her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Oakhill Cemetery in Orangeville, with Deacon Brian Wilshire officiating.
