Fred Miller, owner of Miller IGA for 30 years, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, peacefully in his sleep.
He was surrounded by the family he loved and was so proud of. His wife of 72 years, Shirley (Haynes)Miller, daughters, Joleene Knight, Kathy (Tom) Camp and Christine (Bill) Terpstra; grandchildren, Cheryl Knight, Marcie (Rick) Tiller, Erin (Tom) TerMeer, Carrie (Justin) Powell, T.J. Camp and Joshua, Jessica and Emily Terpstra and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lenore Leetz and brother, Donald Miller.
Fred was born June 8, 1931 in Kalamazoo, the son of Snider and Ella “Doris” (Stimpson) Miller. Fred loved running Miller IGA with his wife retiring in 1990. He enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. Fred was a member of the Otsego Elks.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 12, 2022, at East Cooper Cemetery.
Contributions in memory of Fred may be made to Centrica Care Navigators or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember several years back seeing Fred in his driveway by his Goldwing, so I pulled in with my Harley and we proceeded to have a discussion on which motorcycle brand was better Harley or Honda. I am not sure who won the discussion, but I never bought a Honda, and I am sure he never bought a Harley, so I guess it was probably a draw.
