Brenda Bumgart-Spitzer Plainwell passed away, Monday, August 14, 2023 in Kalamazoo. Brenda was born February 13, 1950 in Moulton, AL, the daughter of Ralph and Hazel (Terry ) Bumgart.
She moved to Michigan as a young child and graduated from Otsego High School. Brenda loved to shop!
Surviving are her daughter, Melissa Russell and her grandchildren, Brittni Tucker and Blake Russell; her sister, Marty (Tom) Meert; her brother, Bill (Teresa) Bumgart; nephews, Brian (Karey) Meert, Kevin (Mindy) Meert and Trevor (Haley) Bumgart; nieces Tara (Jake) Drewyor and Tessa (Charles) Crouch and niece-in-law, Shannon Meert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her nephew, Ryan Meert, her great nieces, Connor Meert and MaKenna Bumgart.
Friends may meet with Brenda’s family at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego starting at 11 A.M. Friday, August 18, 2023 until the time of the service at Noon. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell.
