Breanna passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020, at her home in Plainwell, Michigan, after a courageous battle with Juvenile Huntington’s disease.
She was born February 17, 2006, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Shannon Leahy Lentz and Andrew Lentz. Breanna attended Cooper Elementary and Plainwell Middle School receiving her 8th-grade diploma, thus earning her a spot in high school which was a goal of hers.
Breanna loved fashion, doing her nails, and baking. Breanna had long beautiful golden-blond hair, sparkling eyes and a smile that lit up a room. Singing and dancing were two of her passions. She also adored flowers, especially pink roses. One of her final big trips was to the New York Botanical Gardens. Breanna never met a holiday, celebration, event or party that she didn’t love whether it was for her or for someone else.
Despite Breanna’s ill health, she faced every day with a resilience and fortitude that inspired all who knew her. Breanna touched many lives and was the happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Family was everything to Breanna.
Surviving are her mother, Shannon Leahy Lentz; father, Andrew Lentz; siblings, Brady Lentz, Delaney Lentz, Kylee Hillmann and Shelby Lentz along with her loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Breanna is also survived by her dogs; Shiloh, who she loved to play tug of war with, and Ruby, who stayed with her until the very end.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Breanna’s life will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America Juvenile HD Research or the Kalamazoo County Animal Services (Ruby’s prior home).
