 Timothy Lee Raycraft of Kalamazoo, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Tim was born May 10, 1952 in Saginaw, MI, the son of Robert and Muriel “Mickey” (Michael) Raycraft and has been a resident of the Kalamazoo area since 1978. Tim was united in marriage to Sandra Reimers of St. Joseph, MI on July 21, 1973. He was a graduate of WesternMichiganUniversity, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree (Aviation Technology and Management) in 1976. He was also licensed as a private pilot. He was employed as an aerospace engineer for the Bendix Corporation in South Bend, IN. In 1978 he suffered severe injuries in a hang-gliding accident in South Bend. After several months of treatment he returned to Kalamazoo, where he resided with his parents until his death. Tim is survived by his parents; his sister, Cindra Turek of Portage, MI; his brother, Mark (Jeri) Raycraft of Stevensville, MI; a nephew, Kenneth (Lorien) Dyke of Los Altos, CA; nieces, Laine and Lauren Raycraft of Grand Rapids, MI and Stevensville, MI, respectively, Caroline and Stephanie Turek of Portage, MI; and grand-nephews, Samuel and Maxwell Dyke, Los Altos, CA; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010, from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego. A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M.Friday, February 5, 2010, at the Westwood Church of God, 811 Gorham Lane, Kalamazoo, MI, with Pastor Tom Tufts officiating. Contributions in Tim’s memory may be directed to the Westwood Church of God Memorial Fund.
