So many memories have flooded my mind since your passing, Sara. You were such a presence in my life for so many very special years. I remember you lending a good listening ear on so many occasions and I loved being greeted by your big bear hugs each and every time I would come visit you. Thank you for allowing me to safely experience many of my “firsts” with you, for the long rides with your sweet Kiowa, for your special hand written letters and for so often making me laugh until I would pee my pants (and then affirming that “it’s okay, you’re in the country, everyone does it!”) So fortunate we were to have experienced your spirit and energy. You are in my heart now and always. I love and will miss you my “Aunt Sabaraba!”

  36. Rich & Marleah Simons, 2362 103rd Ave. Otsego says:

We are so very sorry that Sara (Miss Trouble, as my husband always called her) has left us. We were shocked to say the least. Sara was so funny, friendly and a wonderful neighbor. Every year when we put up the orange snow fence we could hear Sara’s dislike, as she knew that meant old man winter was soon to arrive.
Whenever we couldn’t get our cat to take her pill Sara would stop on her way home and do it for us. It was so easy for Sara and impossible for us. Last time she stopped to help, I had just loaded up on new dish clothes..Just so happened Sara needed some so I let her pick the colors and insisted she take half the pile. Oh yes and the night we talked on the phone for 2 hours !!!…Sara is such a likeable person. We will miss her & her laughs in the neighborhood and in our hearts. Rest in peace Sara and when you get to heaven play on the rainbow bridge with all the family, friends and animals that passed before you. Love you girl.

Our prayers for healing to all of Sara’s family. Know that the Lords arms are wrapped around you. The void will never be filled but time will help ease your pain. We have lost a wonderful person but Heaven has gained a true angel. God Bless

  37. Jan Wert says:

I attended Paw Paw High with your mom. I spent a lot of time at her home giggling like silly teenage girls do. Sara was one of kind! A true free spirit, cute as they come, athletic and always fun. I was so excited to find her on Facebook after all these years. I am so sad for all of us at her passing. I shall always remember her as someone full of life and fun! She was kind and never mean to anyone. A joy to know. So sorry for your loss of such a great gal.

  38. Tara Town-Curtis says:

Oh Goderre, where do I begin?!?! We had such an amazing friendship, I cherished every second of it! I’m going to miss our “safety meetings” at work, jumping out to scare you, and even swatting you butt!!! Work is just not the same without you! He took you away, way to soon!! I will miss you my dear friend, may you rest in peace and be my angel above! Love you Goderre!!!!!

  39. Gabriel Hunter Goderre says:

Mom, let me first of all begin by saying, the first thing I did when I got home tonight was bring the trash can up to the house, and without hesitation, instantly closed the door behind me. I always tried to do the simple things for you like taking garbage out, doors, etc., but for some reason maybe only you and I know, i always always either put the garbage backwards, or would forget to close the door!!!! Well worry no more, the tradition lives on, as I was walking inside the house wednesday night I forgot to close the door, and all of the sudden I hear, Gabe, is it cold out side? “yes” I respond, and I hear, “then SHUT THE DOOR!!!!!”…It was Brandon, and I just smiled because I knew that was just it, her love, devotion, teaching, parenting, nuturing, best mom ever ways had not only come through in Gillies, but it was a sudden realization of just how many of my friends learned things, and were touched by you…You were their mom also..J-Ves, Matt, Beatle, Quinn, Kruitoff, peterson, gosh, coombs, and proctor, everyone, everyone loved you. And it wasnt because of this or that, you said this and we did that, it was because of the respect you gave and the way they all respected you. Its nice that your good traits have rubbed off on so many people, and Im so proud of all the things you were able to do and accomplish. You, are the greatest inspiration a son/daughter could ever hope for. Ok, now……………………
I have so much to be thankful for, and so many wonderful memories that will fill all of my days, and I know that eventually I wont think about horrible things, the good will over power the bad, and I will be fine, but I will not easily accept the unexpected and sudden way you were torn out of my life. I miss you so much, and I have never ever been or felt so so sad, I can do nothing but cry amd cry and cry…so so bad, and so badly miss you, and Im really angry right now about so many things that it really has been a hard time for me to even stand at times. Oh I tried, so hard to make you proud today, it was horrible, and there isnt one time I can think about that I just didnt know if I was going to be able to carry on, but someway, somehow Im here talking to you, so I must have survived everything. It will take time. I know this. There were so many people there I was so afraid that because of me, they wouldnt come, but they did, mom they did and they stayed for so long, everyone was so sad, megan, oh my poor sister, I dont know how, but she is the one who pulled me through the week, she never gave up on me. I just didnt want to do it. anything, not this damn letter, not anything. I love you so much, and I dont care if im babbling on to you, I just want to sit and cry and hold you, but ill sit and cry and talk to you here, because thats what I have now…..You also would be so proud of Greg, he made sure i was awake, and ready, and has been just right there for me, holding me up, making sure i was ok. Im sorry im getting your keyboard all messy, just like today im trying but I just dont know where the answer to anything is i cant think about anything, nothing makes sense. I will know, in time, but I sure dont have a clue right now, how in the world im going to do this thing thats called being ok, taking care of me, or anything, because im just trying to figure out how im supposed to life my life without you……………………………….mom I could use a hug right now, I love you and miss you so much……….Gabe

  40. Selkie O'Mira says:

Gabe, Megan, Missy, Greg, Steve, all of Sara’s family and dear friends, I am so sad and sorry for this immense loss. Your mom, sister, grandmother, friend, love, was a shining light in this old world, and it’s impossible to think of not seeing her again. I don’t know how people can just poof on out of here like that – one minute they’re here and then they’re not. I don’t think you really get over it, but you kind of get used to it after awhile. Be gentle with yourselves – it takes time. And Sara, my beloved old friend, may you carry the power and goodness of Earth with you wherever you may go. Thank you for teaching me how to climb trees and ride horses. love love love, always, Selkie O’ (Ginny Thompson)

  41. Melissa Foerster says:

Oh Sara. My dearest friend. I cannot express just how much you are missed and how much we all loved you. Andy’s favorite memory of you was when you were taking a huge dog out of surgery, and he was pulling you through the office. He asked you if you wanted so help, and as you were pulled out the door you yelled “Nope! Got him!!”. It always makes me smile when I think of all of the fun we had together. I didn’t get to spend as much time with you as I would have liked, but I thank God that you were in my life. There were so many times that I needed someone and you were there with open arms. I will miss you walking me out to my car, having our breaks, and making jokes. I will miss the smile that you brought to my face and the stories you always shared with me. Thank you for teaching me so much, and thank you for your love and friendship. I think of you always, and I carry you in my heart wherever I go. To Sara’s Family, if you need anything at all, I am here. I love you, Sara. Until we meet again, dear friend. Until we meet again.

  45. Rebecca (Becky) London says:

when i was 5 there were 2 people who were my heros…Cher because she was a rebel and made fun of Sonny, and YOU…because you dared to really live life!
I will never forget watching you play softball barefoot and getting to play with your puppies under your trailer in Paw Paw when i was young. You were the aunt who really invested in all of us cousins to the point that we all knew what it was like to visit during school breaks, spend time swimming, horseback riding, playing softball, and joking and playing around. You showed me that it was okay to be unconventional and to dare and take risks and experience freedom of thoughts and feelings.
Sara, you helped me bridge from adolescence to adulthood and took me in during a difficult and crazy time for me and you did it for a LONG time!(i often thought you were crazy for being willing to do that). I am the person I am today in part because you were willing to play aunt, mom, friend, and at times advocate for me. i know what you sacrificed to do this, and that it was not easy, and so i want to tell you thank you from the bottom of my heart. I promise to always be a part of keeping your memory alive with my cousins and their kids. This will not be that difficult, because a part of you lives in us all. I love you and miss you very much!

Ps…thanks to your braiding skills, i have earned the reputation as the niece with the braided pigtails from way back when…

  46. Susan and Jerry Weiss says:
